The Boundary Stone — walkthrough
Each entry is one command, in order, separated by slashes.
Directions are abbreviated (n, se, u, d). This is
the exact sequence the game's own test suite runs, so it is always current.
Act I — The Cordon
examine orders / n / examine ash heap / n / examine rows / s s / s / view tabitha / n / wash / steep ring e / e / take loaf / w / w / w in / out / e / write book
The order is the puzzle. view tabitha puts it on your hands and on the ring; wash and steep ring take it off both. The walkthrough goes into the Ash house clean, which is the point.
Act II — The Rectory
n / examine circle / ask rector about bale / ne / ask rector about numbers / ask rector about chest open chest / examine register
ask rector about chest is required — he opens it himself. The register and the docket are the act.
Act III — The Stone
take note / ask ellen about justices / ask ellen about house / w / w / s ask margery about isaac / ask margery about son / open box
ask margery about son before open box, or the game refuses, and it is right to.
Act IV — The Pest House
ne / ask rector about rachel / ask rector about nursing / sw / n / take cloth n / view josiah / view rachel / take bolster / write book / s s / sw / ask cass about night / ask cass about linen / ne / se ask ridge about josiah / ask ridge about night / ask ridge about rachel / ask ridge about helped / ask ridge about mending / nw
take cloth at the gate before going north. Everything after view rachel is the game asking a different question than it has asked so far.
Act V — The Reckoning
ask ellen about numbers / ask ellen about bale / ne / ask rector about bale / sw / se ask ridge about certificate / ask ridge about judith / nw / e / e / ask kay about wardlow certify where it came from
The walkthrough certifies where it came from, which needs three of the five findings. certify the cordon is discharged, certify the cordon holds and certify nothing but the numbers are the other three endings.
