About
Free browser text adventures, built to a fixed set of rules about fairness.
The rules
Every trap warns you twice. Once in the environment, once by the object itself. When you die, the screen names the warning you walked past. There are no coin-toss deaths and no guess-the-verb puzzles.
No unwinnable-but-alive states. If a run has been spoiled β the thing you needed is now under six feet of water β the game tells you plainly and offers you the act again, rather than letting you wander for an hour not knowing.
One interface, every game. Learn the controls once. The parser, the compass, the satchel and the save system are identical everywhere; what changes is the world and the one mechanic that world is built on.
No two games play alike. Each has a single signature mechanic that generates its puzzles, and no mechanic is used twice across the collection.
Practical things
Free, no account, no download. Everything is static files, so the games load fast and work offline once loaded. Progress saves to your own browser and never leaves your device.

Worth writing about:
- Bugs β a command that should have worked, a description that contradicts itself, a save that came back wrong. Tell us which game, which act, and what you typed.
- Unfair puzzles β anywhere you died or got stuck and felt the game had not told you. That is the only kind of bug that really matters here, and it gets fixed first.
- Typos β there are over 330,000 words across these games and some of them are wrong.
- New games β a setting, a period, or a mechanic you would like to see. There are 20 of them so far and more are being written; what a new one is about is far less interesting than what its one rule is, so if you have an idea, that is the part to describe.
