The Ninety-Ninth Day — walkthrough
Each entry is one command, in order, separated by slashes.
Directions are abbreviated (n, se, u, d). This is
the exact sequence the game's own test suite runs, so it is always current.
Act I — Winter Routine
examine shelf / s / w / talk to sarashina / ask sarashina about the tray / examine cage take lablog / e / s / talk to halloway / ask halloway about the plan / examine board examine ash tin / e / examine roster / w / w / talk to sagen ask sagen about site b / take skedbook / examine counter / e / s / examine line clip / out / n / talk to bell / ask bell about the sked on the 96th / talk to oduya ask oduya about site b / ask oduya about the tray / s / e / talk to vance / ask vance about the night of the 93rd take fuellog / w / in / n / n / e w / n / sleep
Act I is a day on which nothing is wrong. The point of it is the timetable: people are where the galley roster says they are, and in three days' time where somebody was not is going to be the whole of it. Talk to all six, then sleep.
Act II — The Core Shed
s / s / s / clip / out / n examine trays / examine thermograph / s / in / n / w examine counter / e / n / w / examine tray / examine cage take lablog / e / s / show the day-book to halloway / n / n sleep
Take the sked book before you examine the counter — the arithmetic needs both. The melt tray contradiction is the one that resolves innocently, and showing the day-book to Oduya is how the game teaches you the difference between a wrong answer and a lie.
Act III — Sixty Below
examine body / search coat / examine floor / e / in / n examine argument / take metlog / n / e / search bunk / examine letters w / n / examine notes / s / s / w take skedbook / examine counter / e / examine met log / ask halloway about the night bell died / show the met log to halloway s / clip / out / n / examine thermograph / examine exposure s / in / n / n / n / sleep
search coat after examining the body, and search bunk in Bell's cabin — he took the notebook out of his pocket before he went out. If you ever end up in the white: the wind is on your right coming home, so east, then in.
Act IV — The Blood Room
examine protocol / examine ampoules / read notebook / read the fuel log / e / n test myself / test marit sagen / s / s / w / examine valves e / n / n / sleep
test myself first or nobody consents. That leaves two ampoules and four names, so the file has to do the eliminating the reagent cannot. Each test costs six hours and something uses them.
Act V — The Accusation
review / examine table / accuse marit sagen
The last command is the choice. Four points on the table gets you listened to: the plate is three, every document is one. accuse nobody is a real ending.
